Description

While low carb diets are now recommended by the Australian government scientists at the CSIRO, unfortunately most GP's and dieticians are still providing guidance based in outdated 1960's science. That typically means an alarming 60% carbohydrates, which is enough to give a large amount of the population diabetes.... oh wait, that epidemic has already happened!

With the keto diet's origins in the 1920's treating drug resistant seizures, it's nothing new. Since then, low carb and/or keto research is showing good results as a dietary intervention for Autism, ADHD, PCOS, Parkinson's, MS, Alzheimer's, migraines, weight loss, and diabetes.

This service is flexible and can include any of the following:
- Meal delivery
- Meal prep (for fridge or freezer)
- Shopping and stocking your pantry with all the right foods
- Training and coaching in how to change to a low carb lifestyle
- Additional focus on reduction of inflammatory foods to better support autoimmune or inflammatory conditions incl general or rheumatoid arthritis, back/joint pain, EDS, etc.

This service is charged at standard NDIS "Assistance With Self-Care Activities" according to the day and time, which is roughly a third the cost of a dietician, yet far more up to date with the CSIRO recommendations.

About the service provider

My motivations: Watching a close friend fall victim to unscrupulous NDIS providers is what prompted me to join the support industry, and seeing her safety at risk after slipping through funding cracks, is what drives me to make a real change. So charging standard NDIS rates, I then set aside a portion of that to assist in funding services usually not covered by the NDIS.... SIL food & rent, medical gap payments, etc. . . Neurodiversity: I have 17 years lived experience, and 15 years employing an almost exclusively nerudiverse creative team. Recently returned to Adelaide after providing 24/7 care interstate for a friend and NDIS participant (trauma+mental health+medical conditions so complex, most GPs wouldn't take her on). I've even set up bespoke emergency STA and SIL accommodation on 24hrs notice, so thinking outside the box, acting fast, and making magic happen for support coordinators and participants, is what I love to do! . . Diverse Capacity Building: Creative and technology wise, I'm a photographer & film maker (working for clients incl Hillary Clinton and the US Government), co-founded an Adelaide radio station, and have over a decade of experience as a technology consultant. Hands on trade skills, I hold automotive mechanical & electrical qualifications, and have plenty of building/renovation experience. . . Cooking & meal prep: Low Carb/Keto food studies are showing support for using it as a dietary intervention for Autism, ADHD, PCOS, Parkinson's, MS, Alzheimer's, migraines, weight loss, and diabetes. I love cooking it, but also shopping + stocking the pantry with lush foods to support this genuinely tasty lifestyle. Already an anti-inflammatory diet, I love refining it even further for those suffering autoimmune and inflammatory conditions incl general and rheumatoid arthritis, back or joint pain, EDS, etc. . . Calendars, Planning & System building: I can help you set up systems to plan & track appointments, meds, script renewals, general life admin, etc. . . Miscellaneous tasks: Dog walking + pet care, food + shopping trips, online shopping (incl price comparisons), small to medium repairs/maintenance around the house, advocacy, making calls to customers service/help desks, light cleaning, and so much more.
